Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble is the most advanced ensemble offered at Irondale High School and includes students from grades 10-12. Placement in this ensemble is determined by audition that takes place at the end of the spring semester of the previous school year. Wind Ensemble meets during 2nd Hour and studies advanced high school and collegiate-level repertoire. This ensemble performs at the Fall Band Concert, the Seniors-to-Seniors Holiday Concert, the SEC Music Festival, the University of Minnesota Concert Band Festival, the Spring Concert, and the Pops Concert.
Wind Symphony
Wind Symphony is an advanced ensemble offered at Irondale High School and includes students from grades 11-12. Placement in this ensemble is determined by audition that takes place at the end of the spring semester of the previous school year. Wind Symphony meets during 3rd Hour and studies advanced high school repertoire. This ensemble performs at the Fall Band Concert, the Seniors-to-Seniors Holiday Concert, the West Side Band Festival, the MSHSL State Large Group Festival, the Spring Concert, and the Pops Concert.
Symphonic Band​
Symphonic Band is a medium-advanced ensemble offered at Irondale High School and includes students from grade 10. Placement in this ensemble is determined by audition that takes place at the end of the spring semester of the previous school year. Symphonic Band meets during 5th Hour and studies medium-advanced high school repertoire. This ensemble performs at the Fall Band Concert, the MSHSL State Large Group Festival, the Spring Concert, and the Pops Concert.
Concert Band
Concert Band is a 9th grade ensemble offered at Irondale High School. All 9th grade band students are automatically enrolled in this ensemble. Concert Band meets during 1st Hour and studies medium-level high school repertoire. This ensemble performs at the Fall Band Concert, the 9th Grade Band Festival, the Spring Concert, and the Pops Concert.
